President, Consumers’ Association of Canada, Alberta

Member, The consumer working group on electronic commerce(Industry Canada, Ottawa.) This group is recommending the protections necessary for consumers to use electronic commerce. The recommendations will result in voluntary codes of conduct and federal legislation. (Reported November 1999)

Member, The financial services committee, Consumers’ Association of Canada.

Board Member, Alberta New Home Warranty Program Board. I am the consumer representative on this board. Other representatives are primarily developers representing home builders and industry groups. (1998-2000)

LJP Investment Consulting

Currently inactive, LJP Investment Consulting provided a full range of cash management and investment services. Essentially, the partnership provided the services of a Chief Financial Officer to companies too small to need one on a full time basis. Most of the work involved new companies.

I attended the University on a full and part time basis, completing the course work for the MBA started at Mc Master University. The degree is incomplete because I didn't finish a major paper. My areas of concentration were finance, international business, economic forecasting, cost accounting and the sociology of education. 1974-1977

Mc Master University

At Mc Master I completed the first year of a two year MBA program. I enrolled in the two year MBA program, rather than completing a Honours Commerce degree because financial assistance was available. Due to receiving course exemptions rather than credits, I have taken an unusually large number of business courses. My areas of concentration were financial accounting, systems analysis, finance, manpower and urban planning. 1972-1973
