D.W. Ellis & Associates Ltd. offers a complete consulting service in Quality Management. We have worked with many large and small Alberta and national companies to set up a quality and productivity push in their organization. These services have included the development of a strategic plan for those just getting started to the detailed training around the QM culture and philosophy, teamwork, supervisory styles, and problem solving tools (including statistical process control). References are available.
We have an extensive number and variety of courses available in relevant areas.
Our services revolve around 5 main phases of QM:
Awareness
This phase consists of introductions of the concepts of Quality Management. At the start, management needs this information to make informed decisions about QM for their organization. This phase starts with an evaluation of the organization through interviews with management and staff. This information along with further QM awareness is used as the basis for a customized implementation plan. Your business situation, cycles in your business, progress to date, staff availability, budget, etc. are used to create a plan that is best for your organization.
Implementation Planning
This phase starts with an evaluation of the organization through interviews with management and staff. This information along with further QM awareness is used as the basis for a customized implementation plan. Your business situation, cycles in your business, progress to date, staff availability, budget, etc. are used to create a plan that is best for your organization.
Management Leadership
This phase starts with the development of an organizational vision. Extensive time is spent in a program consisting of courses and seminars providing management with a true understanding of QM (management commitment). The last part of this phase starts the implementation of QM for management (management doing) by helping to start them into specific on the job activities that create the changes required for them personally. The concepts are moved out of a conference room and into their daily routine. Changes should now be visible to the rest of the organization.
Roll Out to the Organization
An activity that announces the move to QM is presented. Typically all employees are involved through various activities. Enough detail is presented so all staff are knowledgeable about the plan and fears are dispersed.
Problem Solving Throughout the Organization
Everyone in the organization starts to be involved in QM. Typically a phased implementation plan has the activities started at different times in different parts of the organization. Significant training is required with particular emphasis on problem solving and teamwork.
