Dr. David Ellis is the president of D.W. Ellis & Associates Ltd. Dr. Ellis has 33 years of experience in the oil, gas and chemical industries, manufacturing, mining and service organizations. He has 17 years experience working with Quality Management and has reviewed over 20 approaches to the implementation of a corporate approach to quality and productivity. He has coupled the best he has seen with his experience with QM with many small and large organizations and developed his own approach. It has now been used by his clients.

David Ellis has worked with several of the quality assurance standards and has helped in the preparation for quality audits by customers.

Dr. Ellis' working experience includes operating experience, clerical functions, computer systems, financial and operations modeling, supervisor, manager, project manager, consultant, strategic planning, in house course leader, advisor to management, facilitator in the field, facilitator in the boardroom, and lecturer at universities.

Dr. Ellis personally conducts the courses presented by D.W. Ellis & Associates Ltd.

Dr. Ellis has been on the executive of many national associations and is currently a member of the American Society for Quality, has been a guest panelist at meetings and is active in the Edmonton section. In addition to speaking at many association meetings (ASQ, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Conference 1991 and 1992), he has published papers in refereed journals.

His formal education is:

• BSc in mathematics (Queen's University)
• MSc in statistical mathematics (Queen's University)
• MBA in management science and organizational behavior (York University)
• PhD in management science and human factors (University of Toronto).
