Shop Tour

The T-bird club members who had a chance to visit Kar Tunes on Feb17Th/07 were treated to three very informative tours. The first shop on 142 St and 115 Ave, has a great collection of gas station signs like B/A, Pacific 66, Shell, Esso, and White Rose. At this shop we learned from the shop owner (Widrick that Kar Tunes does motor exchanges, mechanical, and electrical repairs. Currently, they are repairing a '73 Dodge Challenger.

In the second shop, we again were treated a show of unique antique gas pumps, along with all sorts of parts for restoration. Various books and magazines on restoring these pumps were displayed. There was also a 1950's "one ring-a-ding, two ring-a-ding" telephone exchange complete with hook-ups. Ruth Buzzy would have been thrilled to operate this unit!

Third location was in Woodland Park, west of Highway 60 on Woodbend Rd. near Enoch. Walking in this excellent shop, we were confronted by a 30's Graham Page complete with spokes twin side mount spares, 12 cylinder engine, and travel trunk. Beside the car two restored twin gas pumps were displayed complete with bases Jay Leno, just may be interested in these!

As pictures show, the mezzanine was completely full of memorabilia, enjoyed by all. This was an excellent shop tour for male and female members. See you at the next one.
